Not So Fast

Well, here it is mid-September, and Emily has another ultrasound tomorrow that she has invited Michael and me to come to and watch. And now they are considering a different name for the baby - Taylor. So there are more decisions to make. Emily has about 11-12 weeks left to go. It feels surreal. She said the other day that it dawned on her that she is never going to be alone for the next 18 years. I said 'yep'! It is a big commitment to make, having a baby. Never having a full night's sleep for the next several years, things like that. Wiping up spills, baby's bottom, etc. It can make you crazy if you let it. She is lucky that we live in the same town, because she always has us to turn to when she really can't take it anymore for the day, and we can keep her baby for her while she does something for herself. Go to the spa, have a massage, or just go home and sleep. At least we know that we get to give him back to her at the end of the day.
We'll be doing day care for her and Chris, since he works second shift. He goes to work around 2:30, so he will be there with the baby in the morning and early afternoon, then he'll leave for our house to drop the baby off here on his way to work. Then Emily gets off at 5:00 and she will drive over and will pick him up. I can see lots of picture taking and video making going on when he is here. :-) These will be precious memories.
